SHIBUMI® WARRANTY PERIOD

Private service vehicles: a warranty is established for 12 months or 30,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first, counted from the date of activation of the warranty, which must coincide with the date of purchase of the end user. Public service vehicles: a 3-month warranty is established, counted from the date of activation of the warranty, which must coincide with the date of purchase by the end user.

1. To have completed the warranty activation process on the website:www.shibumiparts.com2. To present the invoice, this must:

  • Comply with legal requirements.
  • Bring the buyer’s data: name, address and telephone number.
  • Be legible and free from alterations.
  • Specify: Shibumi® product reference, vehicle make and model, service provided (private or public) and mileage since installation.

3. Time and/or mileage elapsed: must be equal to or less than the established warranty period for private or public service vehicles, described above. 4. Provide the following dates:

  • Invoice date
  • Date of installation
  • Warranty activation date.

5. Particularities:

  • Shock absorbers: the replacement of shock absorbers on both sides of the vehicle and their respective shock absorber mounts, boots, stops, nuts and adjusting screws, as appropriate, should always be done. In addition, wheel balancing and alignment should be performed to ensure proper operation of the suspension system.
  • Linkages and Ball Joints: always change the play on both sides of the vehicle and check the geometry of the steering system by aligning and correcting the camber and caster.

6. Installation centers: the warranty is for a set of parts and labor. All warranty repairs must be made only in INSTALLATION CENTERS RECOGNIZED BY THE BRAND, otherwise there is no coverage for labor costs and if the product is delivered, it is not covered by warranty. Note: where there are no brand-recognized installation centers, consult your local distributor for warranty treatment and analysis.

The warranty does not apply to shibumi products when they have been:

  • Altered, modified, adapted, applied or installed incorrectly.
  • Imitation/counterfeit products of the brand.
  • Homemade” type installations or by untrained personnel.
  • Installed on vehicles used for commercial and/or racing purposes.
  • Damaged due to vehicle modifications or an accident.
  • This warranty does not cover the cost of shipping the replacement product.
  • This warranty does not cover products for vehicles discontinued more than 10 years ago.
  • When only one unit is accepted under warranty and the consumer requests replacement of both units purchased, the shibumi warranty will only cover the defective unit.

The warranty cannot be transferred when the product(s) is installed in a different vehicle than the one in which it was initially installed. If the vehicle where the product(s) was initially installed changes user or owner, the warranty will continue as long as the “warranty eligibility requirements” are met.

1. Installation and claims handling should be done at shibumi® recommended installation centers . Note: For events where there is no nearby shibumi® recommended installation center, the authorized shibumi® distributor should be contacted .2. When a purchaser has a claim under the shibumi® warranty related to a defective product, the product should be inspected to determine if it qualifies for replacement under the terms of this warranty. The maximum response time for a warranty claim will be 15 business days or as specified by the consumer statute in each country. To file a claim under this warranty, the purchaser must return the defective product to the original place of purchase or to an authorized *shibumi® site for verification and exchange. In case the original seller no longer exists, a valid copy of the purchase invoice must be attached. 4. If the conditions for warranty eligibility are met, the product will be replaced with a new unit of the same shibumi® part number or its upgrade . In the case of an upgraded unit, replacement should be indicated in the application section of the current shibumi® catalog . For cases of product returns, when events occur such as: sale of the wrong reference number, error in the application or any other logistical or administrative novelty, the user has a period of 15 working days to report what happened, counted from the date of the invoice. It should be clarified that you must present the documents that support the purchase of the product. These documents are similar to those set forth in the warranty policy described above. Shibumi® reserves the exclusive right to decide on the product warranty and grants its authorized distributors the power to evaluate the product and manage the warranty, either the replacement of any defective product or the reimbursement of the cost of the product.
